The batteries will be delivered with a good charge in them, but you still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, do not be impatient, wait until this first charge has completed before thinking about using the equipment, it will contribute to overall battery life
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, when you have used your devices then put the batteries back on charge, you do not want to allow them to sit in a partially discharged state, do not attempt to deliberately discharge the batteries, it will only do them harm and will reduce the life span, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM
Check the code on your mobility equipment carefully to ensure you are ordering the correct battery set as many of them have very similar names of codes, if in doubt you could check the dimensions of the batteries and take note of anything that may be written on the side of them, the size of the batteries are also specified below so you can confirm, these batteries are recyclable the main component is lead which can easily be recycled, more information on this can be found at the bottom on this page on our recycling link
