The batteries will be delivered with a good charge in them, but you still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, the charger LED lights will indicate whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready, while you may well be sorely tempted just to fit them and go without charging it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start
