It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, as soon as you after each use put them back on charge, do not allow them to sit in a discharged state, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, if for any unforeseen reason they is an extended period where you are not using the batteries make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every 4-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These are 12v valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries and will not leak they are both AGM and VRLA, of course they are the required deep cycle kind and they are not-hazardous so safe for on the road and indoors as well as travelling by aeroplane, but of course you should confirm this with your airline at point of booking your flight
