When you receive your order from us your new batteries will be almost fully charged but you will still need to complete the charge before first use, the time of the first charge will be dependent on the charger, just leave it on until its finished, you may well just want to fit them and use the equipment, but do not miss this first step, it's worth waiting until the first charge has completed and it might contribute to over life span
You may not notice it but it will probably take a few charges and use in your equipment before you are able to receive a full capacity charge in your batteries, this is quite a normal part of the conditioning process, you should fully charge your batteries as soon as you can after every use, do not leave them sitting in a semi discharged state any period unless necessary, never try to discharge the batteries, with this type of technology it will only mean a shorter life, if there are extended periods where you are not using the batteries you should remember to recharge every four weeks and do not put them away discharged, even partially, do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM
We offer the information on this page purely as a guide only, if you carefully check the code on your mobility equipment then you should be OK, many are very similar so it's worth being vigilant, if in doubt look at your old batteries, take note of the dimensions and anything written on the side of them, we have included the dimensions of these batteries so you can double check, the batteries themselves have a very high lead content so they are recyclable, more detailed information about recycling lead batteries can be found on a link at the foot of this page
