If your application is portable and requires you to charge the battery then we would suggest that you charge before first and after each use, the cells will last much longer if you do that as leaving them partially discharged will slowly degrade their ability later in life, further if you are not using for a long period then charge every eight weeks but do not leave on charger for more than 24-hours.
