When you receive your MK 8G31DT battery, it will have a substantial charge; however, as with any sealed lead battery, you should charge it upon delivery and before first use. Please charge it after every use and avoid leaving it discharged, as that can be very detrimental to the battery. If six weeks or so go by without use, please do it for a top-up charge.
An important note about GEL batteries is that they take around 15 uses and charges to reach their full potential. This is entirely normal and part of the conditioning process that all rechargeable batteries go through at the start of their busy lives.
