Dell J728N 2700w UPS battery replacement also fits K803N H950N
Replacement Dell J728N 2700w battery pack, up rated 12v 9ah sealed lead VRLA batteries for this 4U rack mountable 230v UPS system, also fits the K803N and H950N, supplied direct from warehouse at low prices.

The Dell J728N, K803N and H950N are basically the same UPS but with different power inputs, 120, 208 and 230 volt and all can use the optional H967N EBM, there will be a link below further down the page for batteries for the EBM if required as well. These UPS systems will normally be rack mounted with a rack height of 4U and nominal rated output of 2700 watt, the box it self has a physical size of 438 x 171.5 x 433mm and no lightweight so be careful when handling.

Changing the batteries is quite easy, you should refer to your manual for full details but it is a matter of removing the front cover by pulling it forward, releasing the thumbscrew of the metal battery door and slide to the right first then open, you can then see the batteries in a slide out tray, pull it out and replace the batteries one a time so you do not make a mistake with the wiring, if you think you are going to be disturbed then take a picture with your smart phone so you have a reference, be careful batteries are heavy.

The expected life span of batteries in this type of installation is between 3-5 years, a will depend on temperature they are kept at and of course extent of use, you should replace them at least every 5 years, other factors maybe dust, run the UPS in a dust free area, do not allow dust to accumulate in vents as this can reduce the cooling effects, make sure the communications room has plenty of ventilation and kept cool.

The batteries are valve regulated sealed lead acid or VRLA AGM, they will not spill and can be safely mounted on there side, they are 12-volt and 9-amp hour as recommended in this particular install, they are also recycle-able as the main component in them is lead making them a very environmentally friendly product, more information on recycling can be found on our recycle page, link to which is at the foot of this page
