These 3U systems were normally rack mounted but also came with stands to make them tower compatible, the battery tray can be seen behind the metal battery door which is held in place by a thumb screw, undo this, slide the door to the right them open, this is all behind the front cover which just clips off.

Battery life in this UPS is between 2-5 years, but that is in normal conditions, it can be effected by many things, undue load, insufficient ventilation and even a dusty environment reducing the efficiency of cooling fans.

The batteries are sealed lead acid and valve related with absorbed glass technology, this means they will not leak and can be used in both tower and rack configurations, they are the recommended 9-amp hour version of this size which will allow full runtime. They are recyclable and as the main content is lead prove to be a very environmentally friendly method of storing energy as lead is easy to recycle.
