Replacement Invacare TDX-SP2 battery set, two 12v rechargeable sealed lead batteries for this powered wheelchair.
The Invacare TDX-SP2 is a mid-wheel powered wheelchair that offers really tight turning circles (can turn on its own axis) and stabilising wheels back and front. This makes for a stable machine with six wheels on the ground able to make a smooth level change keeping a level seating position and taking bumps up to 75mm high (nearly three inches) without any issues helping it be useful for both indoor and outside use.
The TDX-SP2 can come with a multitude of extras many of them electric over and above the very complete standard pack.
Because the chair is so adaptable from new it is probably worth taking a look at the batteries you already have installed, Many of the features that may make this chair so special could have also affected the battery space available.
Firstly do you have the TDX-SP2, or is it the narrow base version, If so you are on the wrong page, the NB will be in the alternative link above.
The TDX-SP2 will originally come with three different battery configurations, from 50ah, 60ah to 73.5ah, normally depending on what other equipment it had installed or options taken. So you see it really is worth double checking, either by checking the model number written on the side of the battery or use the measurements. You can always send us pictures of your old batteries and we can advise further.
As the 50ah GEL is the lowest generally for this chair we will offer that here, but with options in the easy upgrade menu above to both the 60ah and 73.6ah GEL batteries to make it easier for you. We will also put into there some AGM batteries as we have note that some people have fitted them too, possibly second user but there are some benifits for some depending on how they are used, but please note they are not standard fit.
Looking after your new battery is important, they will come out to you almost fully charged, but you should still charge before using, charge after every use, do not try to run the energy level down it will only shorten the battery life, if you are not using the chair then recharge every four to six weeks to overcome the natural discharge, we would only recommend leaving on the charger until its charged no more than over night.
The batteries are recyclable, when they reach the end of there useful life please ensure they are disposed of in the correct manor, they are mainly made of lead so very good for recycling, more information on this matter can be found on out recycle page, link to which will be found at the foot of this page.
These are valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries, they will not leak even if mounted on the side, they benefit from technology making them suitable for electric transport and travelling as they are not hazardous.

The 60ah GEL mentioned in the easy upgrade has the following dimessions:

Height = 169mm 6.65-inches (178mm 7-Inches with terminals).
The 73.6 GEL mentioned in the easy upgrade is:
