The batteries will be delivered with a very good charge in them, but even so your you will still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, unless it's going in something like a UPS or alarm system with its own built in always connected charging circuit, just charge them until your charger LED lights indicate that they are ready, it will probably not take very long, this first step is important so do not ignore it, do not use without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span
