The batteries will be delivered with a very good charge in them, but even so your you will still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, the time of the first charge will be dependent on the charger, just leave it on until its finished, it will probably not take very long, do not miss out this important first step, it will help set them up and possibly extend the overall life expectancy of them
it may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, ensure that after every use that you put the batteries back on charge, letting them sit in a partially discharged state is not wise, never try to discharge the batteries, with this type of technology it will only mean a shorter life, there may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
