After placing your order and upon receipt of your new battery pack you may will note that they have a good charge in them, but regardless of this you will still need to charge them fully before using for the first time, you would not have to do this if it was going in something like a UPS or alarm system as this has its own charging circuit and it will do the job for you, the charger will have LED lights which will indicate whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready, it probably will not take very long, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
