When you receive your mew order of batteries from us they will have a fairly high charge in them, but never the less you still need to fully charge them before first use, the only time when this is not the case is when its going in something with its own built in power supply like an alarm system, while you only need to maintain a charge until the charger indicates that its ready, it probably will not take long and it is very important so not a step you should overlook, while you may well be sorely tempted just to fit them and go without charging it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start
