The 12V30 requires zero maintenance making it non-spill-able, vibration resistant and able to be mounted on its side.

This battery will be delivered to you with quite a substantial charge but as with any rechargeable battery you should charge upon receipt and before first use. Normally if the motorcycle is being used on a regular basis that will be charging the battery and keeping it happy but if there is a season which you’re not using the machine, then a recharge every six weeks will help keep the cells fresh and in good condition for the following season.
