These high quality batteries are valve regulated lead acid, more commonly called VRLA which means the acid is being suspended between the lead plates within a glass mat membrane, this is more commonly called AGM which basically means they are non spill-able, will not leak and is not hazardous.

As with any rechargeable battery a good charging regime is essential to keep them in top condition for as long as possible. When you receive them they should be more or less fully charged but we recommend a top up charge before first use. Even more important is to never leave them in a discharged state after use, so make sure you charge them after every time you use them.
