When place your and receive an order you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged when received, but you should still complete a charge before first use, this will not be necessary only if being fitted in something that is always connected to the mains like a UPS system which will do this job for you, the time of the first charge will be dependent on the charger, just leave it on until its finished, it will probably not take very long, while you may well be tempted just to use them without charging first, if it's going in a portable device it would be unwise to miss it out.
it may well take up to ten charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to fully condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is all quite normal, recharge after each use, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, do not attempt to discharge the batteries fully, this will not extend the life of them, quite the contrary, it will reduce life span quite drastically so cost you money in the long run, if for any unforeseen reason they are not being used make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours.
These 12v batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without any issues so suitable for use in portable devices, deep cycle capable which of course is essential in electric powered devices, no leaking, which means they can be used indoors or medical environments, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe.
