Maintaining your battery is pretty easy if you follow a few simple rules, the battery is factory sealed and maintenance free however you should still look after it. If you use your bike a couple of times a week all year round then you are already doing the best thing for it. If there are periods when the bike will not be in use then the best advise we can offer is to take off the bike, or disconnect the cables. store off the floor and charge every six-weeks on a normal charger but never for more than 24-hours. While writing we do not really recommend optimisers left on your battery all of the time, you are taking a risk that they might be instigating a unnecessary charge. While this is probably better than ignoring it all winter it can have its drawbacks. it’s just a compromise that may not be worthwhile. Far better to give the battery attention every four to six weeks to you know it will be functional come the following season.
