This offer is for a set of batteries for this 1000VA rack mounted uninterruptible power supply system, it will have Smart-UPS 1000 on the front but there are many of these models over the years, you need to check the model code on the back, it will state one of the following:
- SMT1000RMi2U battery
- SMT1000RM2U battery
These models take a RBC132 and that is what these batteries are for.
The system has a LCD or liquid crystal display screen for ease of use, it has environmentally green credentials with the ability to save energy bypassing elements that do not require them in normal use and therefore makes them less expensive to run in green mode.
The batteries are valve regulated sealed lead acid or VRLA with AGM technology, they will not spill and not-hazardous so can be safely mounted on the side in this rack mounted or RM system, they are hot swap capable and recyclable.
Expected life span in such a installation is between 3-5 years, even though this system has temperature compensated battery charging it is still important to be vigilant about where you site your UPS, in a ideal world it would be in a dust free climate controlled room, if you have one of these then great, if not then check there is no build up of dust on the air intake vents and clear them with a vacuum periodically as this can soon coat the fan cooling blades reducing the efficiency of them and if they run hot they will not last as long
