This is a “wet” or “flooded” battery, meaning it does need a bit of routine care. Wet cell batteries are well-regarded for their durability and ability to handle frequent charge and discharge cycles, making them ideal for demanding use. To keep performance consistent, it’s important to monitor electrolyte levels and top up with distilled water when needed. Doing so helps maintain healthy internal cell function and reduces the risk of sulfation—one of the leading causes of early battery failure.
In order to maintain your lift in tip-top working condition, charge the battery right after use. Whether the work was brief, a top-up is best in terms of keeping the battery at its best. If your Snorkel lift won't be in use for a while, an overnight full charge every month is a must. That discourages self-discharge and increases overall lifespan so the platform's available whenever the next job beckons.
