When you receive your order of batteries from us they will have a fairly high charge in them, but you still need to fully charge them before first use, however if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains like a monitor or maybe a alarm system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, while you only need to fulfil the charge until the charger indicates that its ready, it probably will not take long and it is very important so not a step you should overlook, do not miss out this important first step, it will help set them up and possibly extend the possible overall life expectancy of them
it may well take a number of charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, if being used in a portable device then ensure that after every use that you put the batteries back on charge, letting them sit in a partially discharged state is not wise, do not attempt to deliberately discharge the batteries, it will not rejuvenate them, it will only do them harm and will reduce the life span, if it turns out there are periods where the equipment is not being used on a regular basis then ensure the batteries are fully charged before any period of downtime and then topped up every 4-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These batteries will require no general maintenance, no topping up with fluid as it has none, they are AGM and VRLA, of course with deep cycle properties that would be required in this type of application, they are also not-hazardous so safe to use in the home or in portable devices
