Upon receipt of your order from us the batteries will be almost fully charged but even so you will still need to complete a charge before first use, this will not be necessary only if being fitted in something that has its own built in charger that is always connected to the mains like an alarm system which will do the job for you, it shouldn't take long as its almost fully charged already, just until the charger lights indicates its ready, if really in doubt overnight will be more than enough but it's doubtful you would need to leave it on the charger that long, you may well just want to fit them and use the equipment, but do try not miss this first step, if needed that is, it's worth waiting until the first charge has completed and it may well contribute to over life span
