The batteries ordered will be delivered with a very good charge in them almost full, but even so you should still charge before using for the first time, the only time you do not need to do this is if it's going into something with its own always connected power supply and charging circuit, for example a alarm system, as this will do the job of charging for you, the time of the first charge will be dependent on the charger, just leave it on until its finished, as its almost fully it will probably not take very long, do not miss out this very important first step, it will help set them up properly and possibly extend the possible overall life expectancy of them
