Upon receipt of your order from us the batteries will be almost fully charged but even so you will still need to complete a charge before first use, if the battery is being fitted in something with its own built in always connected mains supply like an alarm system then you can miss this step as it will do a better job of charging it than you, it shouldn't take long as its almost fully charged already, just until the charger lights indicates its ready, if really in doubt overnight will be more than enough but it's doubtful you would need to leave it on the charger that long, do not just install and use without this initial charge, unless the situation is as stated above, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
You probably will not notice but if you are using in a piece of equipment that requires outside intervention for charging that it will take up to ten charges and associated use in your device before the batteries are capable of taking a few capacity charge, this is normal, each time you have used your battery in a more portable device then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, it is not wise to leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, we are often asked will this extend the life but no this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every 4 to 6-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These 6-volt batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without any issues so suitable for use in portable devices, deep cycle capable which of course is essential in electric powered devices, no leaking, the acid is held within a glass matting which means they will not leak and can be used indoors or medical environments, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe
The information we have provided on this page should only be used as a guide, you should carefully check before ordering as many are very similar, if still in doubt you can look at your old battery, take a note of the dimensions and anything that may be written on the side of them, this will always be the best way, we have also included the physical dimensions on this page so you can confirm, these 6v 3.2ah batteries are mainly constructed using lead which can easily be recycled, more information on recycling can be found at the foot of this page
