Upon receipt of your order from us the batteries will be almost fully charged but even so you will still need to complete a charge before first use, if the battery is being fitted in something with its own built in always connected mains supply like an alarm system then you can miss this step as it will do a better job of charging it than you, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end its almost fully charged, it will probably not take very long at all depending on the charger, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, do not just install and use without this initial charge, unless the situation is as stated above, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing

Unless you are a very extended user you will probably not even notice that it can take a number of charge and use in your equipment before a full capacity charge is achieved, this is all part of the conditioning process and quite normal, letting your new batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, so if being used in a portable device as soon as you have used them put them back on charge, do not go out of your way to try discharge the batteries fully, this will not extend the life of them, quite the contrary, it will reduce life span quite drastically so cost you money in the long run, it is important to keep a charge in the batteries for long life, so if there is any period of time where they are not being used then charge before hand and top this up every 4-weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours

The battery type is AGM which is short for absorbed glass mat construction, they are also valve regulated, to the end user this would mean they can be used around the home or in portable devices without the fear of any leakage, they will never need any maintenance, except of course charging, no need to top up fluids, they are sealed, the acid is held within a glass matting, very tough can withstand heat and the cold to the extreme and highly reliable
