After placing you and receipt of your order you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged when received, but you should still maintain a full charge before first use, however if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains with its own built in charging circuit like a monitor or maybe a alarm system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, it shouldn't take long as its almost fully charged already, just until the charger lights indicates its ready, if really in doubt overnight will be more than enough but it's doubtful you would need to leave it on the charger that long, this first step is important so please do ignore it, unless of course as otherwise stated above, do not use without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span
While is not something that most will even notice but if being used in a portable piece of equipment it could take a number of charges and corresponding use in the device before a full capacity charge is reached, this is a normal part of the conditioning process, letting your new batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, so if being used in a portable device as soon as you have used them put them back on charge, we have heard of people trying to extend battery life by running them all the way down, do not attempt this with this kind of technology, fully discharging your new batteries will only reduce the overall life span and they will need changing earlier, this will cost you money in the long run, there may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every 4 to 6-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These 6-volt batteries are valve regulated and AGM or absorbed glass mat, not need for any liquid as the acid is held within the glass mat, this means they will not spill and not-hazardous so safe for use around the home and or portable equipment, they are deep cycle which would be required in this sort of application
So many codes on batteries are almost the same, it would be prudent to carefully check them before ordering to ensure you are getting the right pack, if in doubt then look at your old one, take a note of the dimensions and anything that is written on the side, this will always be the best information to have, we have also included on the page the dimensions so you can confirm before ordering, these 6-volt 3.2ah batteries are made mainly of lead which is deemed easy to be recycled, more information about recycling can be found at the foot of this page
