After placing you and receipt of your order you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged when received, but you should still maintain a full charge before first use, however if it's a battery backup for something that's always connected to the mains with its own built in charging circuit like a monitor or maybe a alarm system then you do not need to charge it first as the system will do that for you, the time of the first charge will be dependent on the charger, just leave it on until its finished, as its almost fully it will probably not take very long, this first step is important so please do ignore it, unless of course as otherwise stated above, do not use without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span
Unless you are a very extended user you will probably not even notice that it can take a number of charge and use in your equipment before a full capacity charge is achieved, this is all part of the conditioning process and quite normal, once you have used your portable equipment then make sure you put the batteries back on charge afterwards, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, we are often asked will this extend the life but no this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, If there are extended periods where the batteries are not being used then ensure they are fully charged beforehand then recharged every four weeks but you should not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These 6-volt batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without any issues so suitable for use in portable devices, deep cycle capable which of course is essential in electric powered devices, no leaking, the acid is held within a glass matting which means they will not leak and can be used indoors or medical environments, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe
We offer the information on this page purely as a guide only, if you carefully check the code then you should be ok, many are very similar so it's worth being vigilant, if in doubt look at your old battery, take note of the dimensions and anything written on the side of them, we have included the size below so you can double check, these 6v 3.2ah batteries are constructed mainly from lead which is easy to recycle and transform into another product so therefore environmentally friendly, more information regarding recycling will be found at a link at the foot of this page
