When you placed and received your order of batteries from us they will have a fairly high charge in them, but you still need to instigate a full charge before first use, this will not be necessary only if being fitted in something that has its own built in charger that is always connected to the mains like an alarm system which will do the job for you, the charger will have LED lights which will indicate whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready, probably not very long at all, you might just want to fit them and use, but that would be unwise, unless being fitted in a device as stated above, missing out on charging them first may well shorten overall life expectancy
It's not something that most will even notice but if being used in a portable device it may take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge can be reached, it's all part of the normal conditioning process, if being used in a portable device then you should make sure that after every use that you put the batteries back on charge, letting them sit in a partially discharged state is not wise, never go out of your way to deliberately discharge the batteries, it will not rejuvenate them, with this type of technology it will only mean a shorter life, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every 4 to 6-weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These batteries will require no general maintenance, no topping up with fluid as it has none, the acid is suspended within a glass matting between the plates so will not spill, they are AGM and VRLA, of course with deep cycle properties that would be required in this type of application, they are also not-hazardous so safe to use in the home or in portable devices
Check the information carefully to ensure you are ordering the correct battery as many of them have very similar codes, if in doubt the dimensions of the batteries are probably your best guide and take note of anything that may be written on the side of them, the size of is also specified below so you can confirm, the batteries themselves are 6-volt 3.2ah and have a very high lead or Pb content so they are easy to recyclable, more detailed information about recycling lead batteries can be found on a link at the foot of this page
