This battery is a valve-regulated lead-acid battery pack. Sometimes referred to as VRLA, it is sealed and will not leak even if mounted on its side. It is non-hazardous and deemed safe for airline travel, although you should check with your particular airline when booking if you intend to do so.
The technology is also an advanced absorbed glass mat, or AGM, which, when combined with VRLA, makes it ideal for portable devices. These are used in many applications, from high-end medical monitoring equipment and security and emergency lighting to computer UPS systems and even electric ride-along scooters and bicycles.
This compatible Kung-Long WP4-12, WP4.5-12, WP5-12, and ADT-804302 battery pack requires no maintenance except, of course, keeping it charged. It is best not to let this type of battery discharge, so charge it after every use; if it's not being used, top it up every five or six weeks. This will help extend the overall battery life and save you money in the long run.
