Even though the batteries you receive from us will be just about fully charged, you should still complete a full charge before first use. However, if it's for something that's always connected to the mains, like a monitor or maybe a home or commercial alarm system, you do not need to charge it first, as the system will do that for you. Just charge them until your charger LED lights indicate they are ready; it will probably not take very long; you may want to fit them and use the equipment, but do not miss this first step if needed. It's well worth waiting until the first charge has been completed, and it may well contribute over life.
It's not something that most will not even notice, but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached. It's all part of the normal conditioning process. Allowing your new batteries to sit without charge is not a good idea. As soon as you have finished using them, put them back on charge.
Never try to discharge the batteries; it will not rejuvenate them; with this type of technology, it will only mean a shorter life. If, for any unforeseen reason, they are an extended period where you are not using the batteries, ensure they are fully charged first, then recharge every five weeks, but do not leave them on the charger for more than twenty-four hours.
The battery types we offer here are VRLA and AGM; they need no maintenance or topping up fluids. They are sealed lead acid and valve regulated with AGM technology; they are not hazardous and safe to use around the home or in portable devices and travelling.
