These batteries are sealed for life, they do not need any maintenance, they do however require charging, the problem with this type of equipment is its not used all the time, batteries like to be used and charged, charge when they arrive, after every use and every four weeks if not being used, the damage to lead batteries starts when it is partially discharged so overcome this by compensating and looking after its needs as stated, try to never use more that 50% of the capacity and never fully discharge.
