More information about the chemistry makeup will be available below.
Invacare Cruiser Plus batteries
When your Invacare Cruiser Plus order is delivered to you, the batteries will be almost fully charged, but you still need to complete a full charge them before first use. Your charger will indicate when it has completed charging. The light will generally change to indicate this, while you may well be sorely tempted just to fit them and go without charging, it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start.
It may be apparent that it will take a few charges and associated use in your Invacare Cruiser Plus before the battery is capable of receiving a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, as soon as you after each use put them back on charge, do not allow them to sit in a discharged state, going out of your way to fully discharge the batteries will reduce their life span, so do not do it. If there are extended periods when the batteries are not being used, ensure they are fully charged beforehand, then recharged every 4 weeks. Do not leave them on the charger for more than 24 hours.
These 12v Invacare Cruiser Plus batteries are valve-regulated and AGM (absorbed glass mat), which do not require any liquid, as the acid is held within the glass mat. This means they will not spill and are not hazardous, so they are safe for use around the home and/or when travelling, even on aeroplanes, but you should confirm this with your airline at the point of booking your flight. They are deep-cycle batteries, which would be required in this sort of application.
