The APC Smart-UPS SU2200X180 is a large uninterruptible power supply, it takes four batteries and that is what this offer is for, they combine to make two packs that go inside the UPS system, just swap the cable over, its very easy to fit. There are a lot of APC systems, all the different models with have a code on the back look for SU2200X180 printed either on the back on underneath, its not worth trying to second guess as the chance are you will get it wrong and then incur wasted time returning them for the correct ones.

Once you have fitted the batteries we would suggest running the system without any load to start, in fact if you can for at least 12-hours, this will go a long way in helping to reset to the new batteries energy level and also help to condition the batteries, we know a lot of people will just install and let the system get on with it, but the best way is as mentioned if you have the time for the system to be down this long, perhaps wait until a weekend before you fit them.

You can normally expect a battery life span in this application of between 2-5 years, this will differ with different installations, some will have a larger load or poor ventilation in the communications room, do try though to keep the vents clear, that includes dust which eventually ends up on the internals meaning it runs hotter which leads to a shorter battery life

These batteries are sealed lead valve regulated or VRLA and benefit from AGM technology, this means they will not spill so can be mounted on the side in a UPS without fear of leakage, they can be used in rack or tower modules, they are not-hazardous so safe for use in mission critical environments including busy data centres or hospitals
