Your UPS works very hard 24-hours a day seven days a week, even when you are tucked up in bed, it's there to protect your computers and network from stray voltage spikes and clean up the supply to protect your delicate equipment, below are details for battery replacement for the AEG Protect A 1400, the electric energy that is required for this device to function is stored onboard in the batteries, it takes the mains supply and smoothes out spikes as pushes it through the batteries and is powered by 12-volt cells, this system comes with 2 x 12v batteries and that is what we are offering on this page which of course as would be required, rechargeable, they are safe to use, not-hazardous, not-spillable AGM and VRLA type batteries, more detailed information about the fine qualities of them can be found below

The new batteries that we dispatch out to you will be almost fully charged but the system will still need to fulfil and complete a service charge after installing, you should take note that while this is happening the system will not be able to offer the full backup runtime period until its finished, our best advice would be to allow the system to run without load during the first charge to allow the new battery energy level to reset
A reasonable life span of batteries is between two to five years, this will unfortunately be very dependent on the general conditions its put under, ensure there is plenty of ventilation around the device, do not cover the vents or place it next to a radiator, do not use it as a book shelf, if the batteries get to hot all the time it will shorten the life span, the higher the constant load applied the harder its working which directly relates to battery life, if you can try to keep it below 40%
These batteries can be mounted on the side without any issues, no leaking, which means they can be used in tower or rack mountable situations, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe for use in critical environments
We have provided the information here as a guide, you should carefully check the code on your UPS as many of them are very similar so it's easy to make a mistake, the batteries are recyclable, more information about recycling can be found on our recycling page, link to which is at the foot of this page
