The LED light is now flashing on the front of your APC CS 500 battery backup. It's now time to change the battery. A very easy job to do yourself, you can refer to your owner's manual for the full instructions. Make sure you power down the devices attached, then power down the APC CS 500 unit. Remove the battery cover and pull out the battery, make sure you have the new battery there as well alongside and swap the leads over to the new one, that way you will not make a mistake. It is probably best after you have put it back together to run the UPS without any load whatsoever until the battery is fully charged, better for twenty-four hours if you can spare the time. As the battery would have come to you almost fully charged it will not take that long but if you get the chance, leave it overnight.
