Fitting these batteries yourself is easy and well within the reach of most people, the basic procedure would be as follows, shutdown any and all devices attached to the APC Smart UPS and disconnect the leads, then power down the UPS and remove the power lead from the wall socket, yo do not want any unexpected shocks to ruin your day. The front cover will pull down and forward to clip off, it can normally be done without any tools but to save your nails you might want to use a flat edged screwdriver to ease it off if its particularly tight. You are now presented with the battery door this is either held on by two Phillips screws or a couple of clips at the top, remove these and fold down the door to expose the battery pack, pull it out disconnecting the cradle for the UPS, then its just a matter of swapping out the cables for the new battery and putting it back together.

We find that running up the APC Smart-UPS-750 system without any load to start with is a better way of resetting the new battery setting, it does not normally take long for it to fully charge the new batteries and recognise them as new but if you get the chance leaving them without load overnight would be best
