Only one battery is required for this small surge-protected uninterruptible power supply or UPS. It's easy to fit. We recommend that before fitting, you shut down the equipment it is protecting and remove it entirely from power, including the mains lead from the wall socket. After you have fitted the new battery from us, we suggest that you run up the UPS without any load to start until the system recognises a fully charged battery. This also helps to reset correctly for future use.

This cell-type sealed lead acid is valve regulated, and AGM, so completely safe for this purpose and will not leak if mounted on its side and, of course, is not hazardous.
The expected life span of a battery in such an appliance is 3-5 years, but this can change with a load that is over the recommended output from the UPS, which is expected as equipment gets more energy-hungry and even sited in a position with inadequate ventilation which is another problem, do not bury the box under a pile of files, make sure it has room to breath with any vents kept clear.
After installing your new battery, you run the system without any load until your new battery is registered as fully charged. If you can, overnight would be better.
This is a recyclable product. When it has eventually come to the end of its life, and you need to replace it again, please ensure it is directed to a recycling point for processing. More information on this matter can be found on our recycle page.
