Installing the batteries is not a difficult task, you can refer to your user manual for the method if unsure, once they have been fitted your system will fully charge them, despite the fact they will come out to you almost fully charged it will still need to complete this, you should take note that while this is happening the system will not be able to offer the full backup runtime period until its finished, if you can manage it the best advice would be to allow the initial charge to complete without any load, we know this may not be convenient in a lot of installations
A reasonable life span of batteries is between two to five years, the usage over time however will determine this, ventilation is important, best placed to site would be in an air conditioned communications room, batteries will in general get hot if the heat cannot disperse it will shorten life span, try and keep the constant load below 40%, while it may well be capable of much more it will shorten the battery life so it's a balancing act
This type of battery is valve regulated sealed lead acid, they need no maintenance, they will not spill and can be mounted on the side so suitable to be used in rack or tower UPS systems and not-hazardous so safe for mission critical installations
