Installing the battery pack is quite easy for both the 550VA and 700VA models, first shutdown any equipment that you being protected by your UPS, then disconnect from it and remove the power lead from the wall socket.

You may want to put a soft cloth to protect your system from scratches, when done turn it over to expose the underneath, you will probably see 4 screws holding the battery cover on, remove these and take the battery cover off, you can then clearly see the battery, it may be easier to tip the battery out, take a note of the cables on it and swap over to the new battery and put back together.

We would recommend powering up the Powerware 3110-550i without any load to start with until it recognises it has a new battery and fully charges it internally before thinking about reconnecting to your network
