This battery pack is for the AHS-52-LI version of this tool, that’s a lithium battery. if yours is not a lithium one and the battery looks different, perhaps with big red buttons on the side then it’s the wrong battery. If this is the case the one you probably want will be in the alternatives tab.
Charge your new cordless hedge trimmer battery when it arrives and first use, if its only used during the summer then make sure its fully charged before putting it away. Then again every ten weeks while it’s not being used in an attempt to keep the cells fresh for future use.
Its when the cells are not charged that the issues will arise. Inside the casing there are a number of small cells that combine to offer the voltage and energy storage required to power your tool. These will all self discharge at slightly different rates, causing the cells to go out of balance, charging them puts this right. If they are not then eventually your charger will not see the pack because one of the cells is so far out of balance. So this means you end up replacing a perfectly good set of cells just because you allowed them to sit in a discharged state for to long. This is clearly not something we mind as you come back and buy another battery from us, but from your own financial point of view it is perhaps not wise.

The Ah (Amp Hour) Rating is the storage (or fuel) of the battery, the higher it is the longer the battery lasts between charges, bit like petrol in your car so a higher or lower one makes no different to the performance, just the length of time you can use the tool for.
