The APCRBC105 RBC105 battery module fits several different APC Smart-UPS systems. Some of which are listed here. If your interruptible power supply takes them, these are the batteries you require.
These are valve-regulated lead acid batteries. Quite often referred to as VRLA, they are also AGM. These technologies combine to produce a sealed battery pack that will not leak even if laid on its side, so the pack can be used in a tower or rack-mounted system without fear of spillage and is safe to use in data centres. They are not hazardous and require no maintenance. The expected life span in such an installation is between three to five years, depending on load and proper ventilation, which can shorten the life cycle.
The product is recyclable, so when they have eventually reached the end of life and require replacing, please ensure they are directed to a suitable recycling centre for processing. As such, they are a very environmentally friendly product.
