These are valve-regulated lead acid batteries for this rack mountable extended runtime system; they are VRLA and AGM, so they are perfectly safe for this installation. They are not hazardous, non-spill and safe for use within data centres.

This rack mountable unit has a height of 3U. Access to the battery door can be found just behind the front panel on the left if it is in rack orientation. Changing them is easy to swap them over one at a time in the cradle. The system takes a module, and this application's expected life span is likely between three and five years. But this depends on the conditions it may be subject to, such as continual load and adverse heat if kept in a communications room without suitable ventilation or air conditioning.

The battery type is recyclable. Please ensure that once they have come to the end of their life, they are disposed of at a recycling centre. More information on this subject can be found on our recycle page.
