So you know you need new batteries for your APC Back-UPS-Pro-1000 else, you wouldn't be looking here. You can save loads of money by doing it yourself. It is a straightforward job that will take you no more than five minutes.

You must first ensure you have shut down your server or other computer equipment you are protecting with your UPS, then shut down the UPS and remove the power lead.
On the front, there is a panel. It just pulls down and off. It can sometimes be a little tight over the years. There are typically little grooves of finger holes towards the top. You may have to gently slip a screwdriver or other flat edge to give it a helping hand. When it is off, it is attached to a ribbon lead which will be long enough for you to pull it out of the way and leave it on top.
You will now see the battery door. Sometimes these have two or four screws holding them shut. Sometimes, it is just a plastic clip. Either way, undo these, and the door will drop down and then you can remove it, exposing the side of the battery pack. There will be a device for you to pull them out to rest on the desk or bench so you can undo the lead attaching them, be careful. The combined weight of these is nearly eight kilos, so quite heavy.
So now you have got the old battery pack on the bench, put the new ones new to them and swap over the leads, then put them back in the UPS in the reverse order, like we said, a five minute job.
You may want to run the UPS without any load, without your server or computer switched on just so they become fully charged, which should not take long as they are probably nearly fully charged when you get them.
