The Sterling Sapphire mobility scooter has gone through several different incarnations. The battery size is still the same standard physical size outlined below so that you can check. This offer is for a pair of 12v valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries. They will not leak and are suitable for use on public transport.

How to fit Sterling Sapphire mobility battery?
The Sterling Sapphire generally has two boxs that contain the batteries, these have handles on the top and they slip over each other to slot onto the scooter. Fitting new batteries is not difficult, the only tool you will need is a longish Philips screwdriver with a small PH1 tip, and perhaps a small 8mm or 10mm spanner to undo the battery terminals themselves. Although it's not difficult, the batteries are heavy, and there are some tricks. Do not undo the handles on the top; turn the box over and only remove the screws from underneath; you will note the screws to undo in our pictures, although note that some of the screw holes are hidden beneath velcro. Then, turn the box back and change the batteries, probably taking about fifteen minutes per box.
The best way to look after your new Sterling Sapphire batteries is to charge fully before first use, charge after every use, and do not leave them sitting around in a semi-discharged state for any longer than you have to. If you can always maintain at least 20% charge in the batteries, if they are not being used, then charge every eight weeks to arrest the effects from natural discharge, but never leave on a charge for more than twenty-four hours. This will go a long way in ensuring they can live a whole life and save you money in the long run.
