The Genie standing wheelchair from EasyCare is a high quality power-chair that is a lifeline for users that need require such chairs, and the Genie shines in these circumstances. The electrical energy that is required for momentum is stored onboard in deep cycle batteries, they a a pair of 12volt 40amp hour GEL batteries. As they are manufactured for mobility use they are capable of deep cycling which would be needed in such a application, they are safe to handle and can be use indoors, not-hazardous and will not spill, more information on their chemistry make up will be found below.

Even though the batteries you receive from us will be almost fully charged you should still need to complete a full charge before first use, just charge them until your charger LED lights indicate that they are ready, it will probably not take very long, do not be impatient, wait until this first charge has completed before thinking about using the equipment, it will contribute to overall battery life.

It may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal. Make sure that you charge your new batteries after each and every use, they are capable of many charges but this will reduce if you let run them down in-between. Fully discharging your new batteries will reduce the overall life span and they will need changing earlier, this will cost you money in the long run. It is important to keep a charge in the batteries for long life, so if there is any period of time where they are not being used then charge before hand and top this up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours.

The battery type that we are offering her is VRLA and GEL, they need no maintenance, no topping up of fluids, they are sealed lead acid and valve regulated with AGM technology, they are not-hazardous and safe to use around the home or on pavements as well as travelling although if you are booking a flight you should check with the airline first.

This offer is for the GEL 40ah batteries however you can get 50ah AGM versions, even though the manufacturer recommends GEL we can still supply the AGM if you wish since they are a little cheaper, these can be selected on the alternatives tab.
