After you have unpacked your new battery order from us you will note that they will have a good charge in them, regardless of this you still need to complete a full charge before first use, your charger will indicate to you when it has completed a charge, it will probably not take very long depending on the charger, the light will generally change to indicate this, while you may well be sorely tempted just to fit them and go without charging it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start
It may be apparent that it will take a few charges and associated use in your electric vehicle before the battery is capable of receiving a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, as soon as you after each use put them back on charge, do not allow them to sit in a discharged state, never try to discharge the batteries all the way down, this will only reduce the life span and cost you money in the long run, there may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM
Ensure that you order the right battery by carefully checking the code on your mobility device and comparing it to the information here, a lot of them are very similar so it can be easy to make a mistake, if in doubt check the batteries themselves, the dimensions and anything written on the side of them, we have included the physical sizes of the batteries so you can double check, these batteries are mainly constructed using lead and can be easily recycled, more information on recycling can be found at the foot of this page
