The batteries that you obtain from us will be almost fully charged, but you still need to charge them fully before first use, there should be no need for many hours, it will probably not take very long at all, just until your charger indicates they are ready, this will of course depend on the charger capabilities, you may well just want to fit them and use the equipment, but do not miss this first step, it's worth waiting until the first charge has completed and it might contribute to over life span
It's not always apparent but it will take up to ten charges combined with use in your device before a full capacity charge can be achieved, this is the normal part of conditioning, once you have used your equipment put the batteries back on charge, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, never go out of your way to deliberately discharge, this will only reduce overall life span, there may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These are 12-volt valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries and will not leak they are both AGM and VRLA, of course they are the required deep cycle kind and they are not-hazardous so safe for on the road and indoors as well as travelling by aeroplane, but of course you should confirm this with your airline at point of booking your flight
