How to charge and maintain scooter batteries?
We would recommend that before first use you should fully charge the batteries and also charge them after every single use but never for longer than needed, a fully charged battery will hold its charge for a good couple of weeks so no need to be left on charge. In general it is a good idea to not use the final 20-percent of capacity if possible, this will make it last much longer overall. If there is a period of time it will not be in use then charge every 6-weeks to slow down the natural self discharge that will occur.
Looking to upgrade to a higher ampere for additional range?
The batteries on offer here are a pair of 12-volt 55-ampere AGM batteries that are suitable for the job however Invacare would recommend upgrading to the GEL versions. This upgrade can be selected in the easy upgrade section or a link can be found in the alternatives tab.
Can this scooter take more than one size?
This scooter can take quite a variety of different batteries, all of which we can supply and all are slightly different physical sizes. The upgraded GEL and the standard 55Ah will fit however some wheelchairs are able to take the larger group 24 batteries. If you are interested in these then i would recommend checking the dimensions of the space where the batteries will be installed and ensuring that they will fit.
