Installing the batteries is comparatively easy procedure if in any doubt refer to your manual for the process, they will come out to you almost fully charged but the system will still go through a service charge upon firing up, you should be mindful that while this short charge time is still taking place you will not have the full runtime protection, while you might just want to install and go, if you can it may be better to start without load until its completed its first charge, this will give the system chance to reset to the new batteries properly

It would not be unreasonable to hope for a 2-5 year life span of batteries in the UPS, this will however differ quite a lot from user to user depending on the use, ensure there is plenty of ventilation around the device, do not cover the vents or place it next to a radiator, do not use it as a book shelf, if the batteries get to hot all the time it will shorten the life span, If you can keep the constant load below 40% the batteries will end up lasting longer, a high load will be at the expense of the overall life expectancy of the cells

These batteries are absorbed glass mat, AGM and valve regulated sealed lead acid or VRLA for short, they require no maintenance and due to their internal chemistry can be mounted on the side in rack mounted or tower UPS systems without the fear of leakage, they are not-hazardous so can be used in busy data centres, hospitals and of course the home office.
