APC Smart-UPS 3000 battery SU3000i replacement.
Replacement APC Smart-UPS 3000 battery pack, rechargeable sealed lead batteries for the SU3000i to fit at a low, competitive price.
The first thing to check is that you are looking at the correct battery set for your UPS system, as there are many different APC Smart-UPS 3000 models. On the reverse of your box, you will see a nameplate among a few other details. It will show the model number; this will be SU3000i or SU30001; if indeed it states something different, then please use the search bar above to find the correct version for your model or contact us with this information.
Fitting is relatively easy to do yourself and will save a considerable amount of money on employing someone to do it, or for that matter, replacing the UPS just because it needs new batteries. The only tools you will require are a Phillips screwdriver and perhaps a pair of pliers.
Before you start, you will want to unpack the parcel from us; in it, you will see four batteries; these will combine to form two modules for your UPS. You will want to make time that you can shut down your equipment so that the UPS services, when ready, shut everything down and remove the power lead from the mains socket.
The front panel clips off, and you will see the battery door; this is held in place by Phillips screws, remove these and drop the door down; this will expose the battery packs; they are attached via a plug connector unplug and slide out the modules.
Then it's just a matter of swapping over the cables and possibly if it has the fused connection to the new batteries. Then put back in, ensuring that the connectors get plugged in again and put the door and the front panel back on; it will not take a long time, and be aware that the batteries are heavy.
You may want to run the UPS up without any load or equipment attached to charge the new batteries before you fully reapply any load. This will, in effect, help the UPS reset at a fully charged battery; we have found in the past that this can help.
Four batteries in the pack; they are not-hazardous and non-spillable, valve-regulated lead acid, designed and suitable for this application. This kind of battery should be recycled and not disposed of in landfill; more details can be found on our recycle page.
