When your order is delivered to you your new batteries will be almost fully charged, but regardless of this you should still complete a charge them before first use, this will not be necessary only if being fitted in something that is always connected to the mains like an alarm system which will do the job for you, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, it will probably not take very long at all depending on the charger, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you might just want to fit them and use, but that would be unwise, unless as stated above, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy
